Differences in our genetic make-up mean some of us are slightly more hungry all the time and so eat more than others. I will highlight the fat-sensing 'leptin-melanocortin' pathway, as a key appetite control circuit.

This session will explore the role of the farm animal vet in this emerging technology, including the potential opportunities and risks for the profession and for animal health and welfare. It will also consider potential future uses of AI and how that could transform the way farming, and therefore the farm animal profession operates.
