About the session

It can be daunting to come back to work after a period of absence. There are many reasons why vets may need to take time out, but what we need for the profession is to make sure those that leave for personal or health reasons, feel like they can come back at some point. We need to retain the talent and curate a culture of support and encouragement so that people know the veterinary world door is always open.

In this month’s webinar, we will have BVA President Malcolm Morley in conversation with Louise Withers and Vicky Jux - two vets who both took career breaks of differing lengths and returned to practice. They will be talking about their experience, and there will be an opportunity for questions from attendees. This conversation will aim to provide context and inspiration from the perspective of those who have left or are about to leave work, and to provide guidance for teams and management to support those returning.

In keeping with the recent format, Rob Williams – Head of Talent at Vet Partners – will be joining us for the reflection period after the chat. Rob has experience of managing returning to work for veterinary teams, so will bring a valuable and insightful thought piece to the session.

This webinar is brought to you by BVA and VDS Training as part of the new 'Good Veterinary Workplaces - Taking action' webinar series.
