About the session

Work to reform veterinary legislation is already underway – but what might it look like, and what impact could it have on you and your team, whether in clinical practice or working elsewhere?

Join us at 7pm, Tuesday 30 September for the second in our three-part Reforming the Veterinary Surgeons Act webinar series. The second webinar, What might it look like and how will it impact vets in practice?, will be hosted by BVA President Liz Mullineaux and BVA Junior Vice President Rob Williams, alongside special guest Natasha Widdowson, Head of Veterinary Policy at Defra.

Together, they’ll explore:

  • What Defra has been doing towards reform of the Veterinary Surgeons Act, and how BVA and others have supported this work
  • Its potential impact on vet teams in practice and working elsewhere
  • The opportunities for you to influence and shape these important reforms

The session will finish with a live Q&A, giving you the chance to put your questions directly to the speakers. This is your opportunity to understand how work on legislative reform is developing – and how you can help shape it.

These webinars are aimed at vets - BVA members and non-members - but others, including veterinary nurses, are welcome to join.

Speakers
  • BVA President Liz Mullineaux
  • BVA Junior Vice President Rob Williams
  • Natasha Widdowson, Head of Veterinary Policy, Defra

A recording of this session will be made available to BVA members in our CPD library following the event.

Recording available: Reforming the Veterinary Surgeons Act: how is veterinary surgery regulated, what needs to change and why?

Catch up with session one from this series in our CPD library (member-only). During the recording, we cover what it will mean for vet teams in practice and elsewhere, and how you can influence what legislative reform might look like ahead of a Defra public consultation, hopefully later this year.
